Open Beam Pendant

The bold and enigmatic lighting effect changes as you move around it. The entirely CNC-milled fixture provides direct and indirect light, with a diffuse glow across a broad area above and below the fixture. The center of the pendant is left completely open between the parallel aluminum bars. The bars have inward-facing grooves for a pair of recessed LED strips. Their narrow spacing away from each other allow you to look at and through the fixture without seeing the light source. The bars are tenuously held at the ends by a pair of solid hardwood blocks, with a subtle but sculptural curve facing toward the light. Minimal stainless steel fittings, aircraft cables, and internal wiring allow a simple and adjustable suspension method.

The bars are available with clear anodized or custom colored powdercoat finishes. The end blocks are available in a variety of domestic hardwoods. The fixture weight is 20lbs. LED's are low-voltage (24v). Dimming switch/power supply included with the fixture, in order to connect to 120v power.
